Kuldip Singh Grewal
One of the founding members, Kuldip Grewal has been with Elcome since its inception. A former Indian Navy Officer and Radio Officer of the Bahrain-based Royal Air Force, Kuldip has almost half a century of experience in the Middle East maritime industry and is a highly valued member of the board. Kuldip’s combination of sharp business acumen and clever wit ensures he is viewed as a true visionary and corporate leader, and his belief in sustainable resources is steering the business into ever-more ecologically friendly territories.
Jimmy has been passionate about technology for more than twenty years, and has almost a decade of engineering and business management experience. Jimmy is the Executive Director of the Elcome Group, a US$ 70M technology integrator for the maritime and defense industry across the Middle East and Asia. Prior to that he was a Program Manager at Microsoft in Silicon Valley managing the development of Internet Explorer for the Mac OS. Jimmy graduated from Duke University in 1999 with a degree in Economics and minors in Computer Science and Marketing.
Director - Business Development
Mike Hardman gained a BA in Political Science from London University, however he has been based in Dubai most of his life. He became an entrepreneur in 1996 working until 2009 within the region’s advertising sector. Mike is the son of Bill Hardman the founder of Elcome International, and has been a member of the Board since 2009. Thanks to his engaging personality and ability to break the ice in group situations, his role as Director of Business Development has seen him develop strong partnerships with key players in the maritime industry. Mike is especially interested in expanding Elcome’s security business and has made great inroads in to this competitive industry. He is the brains behind Elcome’s STORM500 – an integrated non-lethal, crowd control solution. Mike currently concentrates most of his time developing the new Security Division.
General Manager - Strategic Projects
With more than three decades of experience – three-quarters of which have been spent in the Middle East – Sandeep Zutshi’s strong management skills and national security projects experience has stood him in excellent stead as a board member. Elcome’s ‘go-to-guy’ for coastal surveillance and critical infrastructure protection solutions, Sandeep is always keen to explore turnkey projects and this ensures he is an integral part of the team. Sandeep heads the business operations of Elcome in Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, and Saudi Arabia.
Deputy General Manager - Customer Support
Surjit Singh, an engineering graduate (Electronics) with Honors in 1991 from University of Bombay in India, has been with Elcome since 1996. Surjit has a very deep knowledge about SOLAS, CLASS, IMO regulations and Port State requirements, and is a certified Radio Surveyor. Surjit, with more than 2 decades of diverse service and support experience in deep sea, offshore, and rigs, is leading a team of 50+ service engineers and technicians to look after the international service, installations, commissioning, after-sales support while ensuring a first-time-fix (FTF) ratio of 96% for the last 5 years in a row. Under his leadership and training, our support team is frequently exceeding the milestones and bagged several awards from leading manufacturers such as Cobham SATCOM (formerly Thrane & Thrane), JRC Alphatron, Skipper, etc.
Deputy General Manager - Offshore, Oil & Gas
An engineering graduate and post graduate from the IIT, Malvinder has more than three decades of experience in the telecommunication field, out of which 25 years of it has been in the UAE/Gulf. Malvinder has an extraordinary track record within the marine and offshore industries, with domain expertise in oil & gas and industrial telecommunication sectors. Malvinder has successfully designed and executed integrated radio and telecommunication systems (Wired & wireless) for oil & gas projects for international EPC contractors and drilling companies. Malvinder is currently focused to augment Elcome’s contribution to the telecommunication systems requirements for the ongoing and future projects with ADNOC, other leading oil companies, owners, operators, and the EPCs in various implementation stages.
Deputy General Manager - Commercial Business
An Engineering graduate and a Masters in Marketing & Finance, Prasanth Gopalakrishnan has worked in Mumbai for six years as Automation & Communications Engineer. In 2003 Prasanth joined Elcome Dubai to be part of the newly set up Automation department. Prasanth is passionate about electronics, and engages in creating and developing various automation and electrical solutions. In various capacities at Elcome, Prasanth launched and expanded business models of Automation, Safety, and Electrical activities. Under his leadership, Prasanth established ELSYS, a child brand of ELCOME to offer tailor-made turnkey electrical solutions for the maritime industry. Prasanth, now responsible for commercial business, is heading the sales and support team for all business segments and product categories.
Deputy General Manager - Defense
An engineer and management graduate from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, India with 17+ years experience in the marine industry. A former commended Indian Navy Officer, Indermohan Singh has served on-board Indian Navy Frigates, Submarine HQ and has been part of many Navigation, Communication and Simulation projects with the Indian Navy. Inder has been with Elcome since 2005 and presently heading the Defense/ Charts & Publications departments. Having strong experience in relationship management, Inder is managing the Navy, Coast Guard and other military establishment accounts. Elcome was awarded a “Certificate of Appreciation” from UAE Navy in May 2014 for commendable service by him and his team. A passionate sailor and navigator, he has been adept in marketing and managing the paper and digital charts/publication market segment in the region.
Senior Manager - Navigation & Communication
An engineering graduate in Electronics and Telecommunication, Jatin Sharma has been with Elcome since 1996. He had started his career with service department where he was a specialist for satellite equipment such as Sailor, Skanti, Thrane & Thrane, Nera, etc. Jatin moved up into managing overseas branches in G.C.C. for four years before he was installed to head the navigation and communication department. Jatin continues to expand the navcom department and especially focused in amplifying the high growth plans and potential of satellite airtime strategic business unit in Middle East and Indian subcontinent.
Senior Manager - Automation
An engineering graduate and holds Masters (M. Tech) in Cryogenic Engineering, Pramod Nair joined Elcome in 2005. Pramod has been a key instrument in expanding the Automation and Safety products portfolio and the Architect in design and development of complex integrated systems for major retrofit and conversion projects. Having a strong foundation on figures, systems, and complex solutions, he has quickly become an essential part in engineering and winning major new-build contracts for Elcome. Pramod is presently responsible for Automation business line and frequently be seen managing multiple turnkey projects that one would refuse even to imagine.
Senior Manager - Finance
As the Sr. Finance Manager, Jackson supports the management team in developing and implementing financial strategies for Elcome and plays a key role in providing analytical data for all management & business decisions. He also manages company’s relationship with leading international and local banks, and other stakeholders. A certified Chartered Accountant since 1994, his professional experience in a variety of industries has helped him to improve Elcome’s internal control systems and MIS as the expands globally into new territories. Achieving business excellence through continuous business process improvements is something he is passionate about.
