AIS for safe navigation
The Automatic Identification System (AIS) is a tracking device used on-board ships and by Vessel Traffic Service Management Authorities. Ships equipped with AIS transceivers broadcast standardized messages which contain vessel’s name, identity (MMSI/IMO number) course, speed, and current navigation status.
ContactMeets IMO’s requirements
IMO’s International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) requires ships meeting specific criteria to fit AIS aboard for collision avoidance. Ships over 300 GT and all passenger vessels must have AIS aboard.
Full system or sensors
Available as Class A or Class B AIS device that integrates VHF transceiver (sender-receiver) with a positioning system such as GPS and is capable of exchanging standardized AIS messages.
Integration flexibility
