Elcome subsidiary named UKHO ADMIRALTY distributor in Sri Lanka

DUBAI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES – Feb. 20, 2018 – Elcome International has announced that its subsidiary, International Marine Services (Pvt) Ltd, has been named an official non-exclusive distributor for United Kingdom Hydrographic Office (UKHO) ADMIRALTY paper and digital products in Sri Lanka.

The UKHO distribution agreement signifies that the Colombo-based office meets the same UKHO quality and audit requirements as Elcome’s headquarters in Dubai.

“Elcome is the oldest and most respected ADMIRALTY agent in the Arabian Gulf region,” said Konstiantyn Matvieiev, Senior Manager of Charts and Publications at Elcome International. “In recent years, we have been supporting our Colombo office in Sri Lanka as a reseller; but as a result of this new distribution agreement with UKHO, International Marine Services now has a large stock of nautical publications, log books, flags and safety signs for speedy delivery anywhere in Sri Lanka with faster availability and competitive pricing.”

Elcome and International Marine Services are the only companies in the region actively participating in the Charts and Nautical Instruments Trade Association (CNITA), which is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2018. Being full members of CNITA ensures compliance with the highest standards, quality and fair competition.

“We have invested in training, equipment and inventory for our Sri Lanka office, including installation of print-on-demand technology for paper charts meeting the highest UKHO standards,” said Matvieiev.
International Marine Services became a wholly owned subsidiary of Elcome in 2015. Located next to the Port of Colombo, the company provides supply and support services for a wide range of commercial marine and military projects.
