Maritime Progress: SMPEP – Shipboard Marine Pollution Emergency Plan

Complies with MARPOL 73/78, Annex II, Regulation 17 requiring any ship of 150 tons gross and above, certified for the carriage of noxious liquid substances to have a SMPEP approved by the administration. In the case where Annex 1, Regulation 37 also applies it may be combined with the SOPEP. This manual satisfies the above MARPOL regulations once basic ship specific information has been inserted by ships staff. It also contains useful check lists covering various oil spill and pollution scenarios.
